A few words about me
Aruba, rich in history and bathed in a vibrant palette of Caribbean colors, is where I’m from. In 1976, at the age of 19, I first held a serious camera in my hands, setting forth on a self-guided photographic journey that would shape the next five decades of my life.

Learning by Light and Shadow: My photography education was unconventional. I didn’t sit in formal classrooms; instead, I wandered the streets and beaches, chasing sunsets and moonrises. The rhythm of the tides taught me patience, and the interplay of light and shadow became my silent mentor. I devoured photography books, dissecting each composition and its use of light, and I experimented relentlessly, learning not just from success but from the beautiful failures that etched themselves into my memory.
Mistakes are brushstrokes in the mural of growth. They’re not detours, they’re part of the path. Every misstep in my photographic journey, every overexposed frame or missed moment, taught me something no textbook ever could. That’s the essence of trial and error.
